Ethanol, Food Shortages and the Real Cost of Climate Alarmism
As Americans go to the grocery story and discover rising food prices on the shelves, we have to thank in part Climate Alarmism. The push to turn our food into fuel has played a role in the rise of food prices here in the U.S. and globally. And it’s only going to get worse as American farmers respond to the federal mandate and more and more of our farmland is committed to fuel and not food. With global reports of riots, Continue reading

Expert: “We’re brainwashing our children” about global warming

Expert: “We’re brainwashing our children” about global warming

Another post from guest blogger Rick Neale of Florida Today, from the National Hurricane Conference in Orlando:

William Gray, the well-known Colorado State University hurricane forecaster, routinely uses the annual National Hurricane Conference as a platform to bash global warming. In a statement to Florida Today, Gray argued that the scientific consensus on global warming is bogus — and “a mild form of McCarthyism has developed toward those scientists who do not agree” that mankind is in danger. American media ignores inconvenient science on global warming

American media ignores inconvenient science on global warming

Jerome J. Schmitt

Americans apparently have to look to Australia for truthful accounts of climate research conducted by our own space agency. Christopher Pearson’ March 22 article in THE AUSTRALIAN concerns an interview of “Jennifer Marohasy, a biologist and senior fellow of Melbourne-based think tank the Institute of Public Affairs.” When asked about “Global Warming”, Marohasy stated: Continue reading

Twelve-month long drop in world temperatures wipes out a century of warming

Over the past year, anecdotal evidence for a cooling planet has exploded. China has its coldest winter in 100 years. Continue reading

So Much for Global Warming

So Much for Global Warming

By Phil Brennan
NewsMax.com | 2/20/2008

Are the world’s ice caps melting because of climate change, or are the reports just a lot of scare mongering by the advocates of the global warming theory?

Scare mongering appears to be the case, according to reports from the U.S. National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) that reveal that almost all the allegedly “lost” ice has come back. A NOAA report shows that ice levels which had shrunk from 5 million square miles in January 2007 to just 1.5 million square miles in October, are almost back to their original levels. Harvard astrophysicist Dr. Sally Bulinas is the latest distinguished scientist to declare anthropogenic global warming theory wrong. The Tyler (TX) Morning Telegraph reports:

Dr. Sallie Baliunas shared her findings Tuesday at the University of Texas at Tyler R. Don Cowan Fine and Performing Arts Center.
Dr. Baliunas’ work with fellow Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics astronomer Willie Soon suggests global warming is more directly related to solar variability than to increased levels of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere, an alternative view to what’s been widely publicized in the mainstream media.
“Some people argue solar influence Continue reading

Ethanol Follies

Ethanol Follies

Rick Moran
Fallout from the ethanol scam continues to hit the economy. Not only has the rise in the price of corn due to diverting part of the the crop for fuel made much of the food we buy in the grocery store more expensive, now the drive to plant more corn for ethanol production has caused a shortage in wheat:

Ethanol, a fuel that can be derived from corn products, set some of the rising grocery prices in motion. Demand for ethanol caused a worldwide shortage of corn this year, Continue reading

The Return of the Old Gods: A Challenge to Green Evangelicals

The Return of the Old Gods: A Challenge to Green Evangelicals

By Timothy Birdnow

“And the Lord spoke all these words:

I am the Lord thy God, who brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.

Thou shalt not have strange gods before me.

(Exodus 20: 1-3)

Their names are Legion, for they are many; the Romans knew them as Juno, or Diana, or Ops. Freyr, Gerd, Idun, and Jord ruled the Norse, Dziewona and Mokosh were their names to the Slavs. The Hawaiians had Papa, the Aztecs Coatlicue, the Egyptians had Geb and Nut. The Celts had many: Cerunno, Cyhiraet, Druantia, Maeva. The ancient Canaanites had their Baal, who would cause so much trouble for the Israelites.
They are all gods and goddesses of the earth, of nature, the old rulers of the ancient world. Continue reading

Global warming alarms not worth their salt

Global warming alarms not worth their salt

Two years ago scientists warned that the North Atlantic Ocean had become much less salty over the past 50 years due to global warming. This year, scientists warn that the North Atlantic Ocean has become more salty over the past 50 years due to — guess what?

In June of 2005, Live Science reported the lower salt levels, attributing that: Continue reading

A policy pushed by liberal elites will end up harming the poor — all for the sake of moral vanity and political correctness.

The Wall Street Journal takes note of articles in Foreign Affairs about the increasing use of corn to produce ethanol, including one by University of Minnesota economics professors C. Ford Runge and Benjamin Senauer (”Using corn as a source of fuel rather than as food will drive up prices of corn and other food staples”) and a rejoinder Continue reading
